Oregon Teardrop Rentals FAQ

Our lightest teardrops weigh only 1,350 so if you already have a hitch and wiring installed on your vehicle, it is more-than likely that you can tow one of our teardrops! (most passenger vehicles can tow at least 1,500 lbs)
Just to make sure, however, we’ll verify all those details with you during the booking process.
If you do not have a hitch, plesae send us a message via our “contact us” page and we can advise you of your installation and equipment options for your make and model of vehicle.

If you are renting Margot (the yellow one) two smaller adults (shorter than 5’ 9” ft tall) will fit comfortably.
If youare renting Burnadette (the orange one) two adults, regardless of their size, will fit comfortably since she has our largest sleeping area of our fleet.
If you are renting Levi (the blue one) then two adults can sleep in the cabin sleeping area, and an additional 2 adults (or 3 children) will fit comfortably in the rooftop tent.

One of the best features of our teardrop’s design is the convenient and efficient cooking and kitchen area in the rear of the teardrop accessed via a hatch or split door panels depending on the model you have chosen to rent.

Yes, both!
A fully charged teardrop battery will power everything already “attached” to the teardrop (fan, lights, and electronics charging ports) for 3 - 4 days with normal use. This makes teardrops an idea option for dry camping with moderate temperatures.
If you wish to plug something in (heater, countertop appliances, cpap machine, etc…) an extension cord and adapter is included with your rental to plug into your campground site which includes an electrical hook up.

However, we do offer a “portable loo” add-on option which includes a tent and bucket loo toilet for our off-grid customers.

Precisely at our agreed-upon pick up time we will meet and review the hook up protocols, included items, safety features, driving tips and tricks, sign contracts when needed and review return protocols. This process normally takes 30 - 45 minutes.
For returns, guests need only to return the teardrop during any daylight hours before our agreed-upon drop off time, in our agreed-upon location, put the keys in our agreed-upon hiding spot, then text a photo to document the drop.

If you have Geico or Progressive insurnace you will need to book via one of our online partners and purchase insurance with them. This normally costs around $25 per day + a 15% booking fee for using their service.
If you have any other insurance provider, we will correspond with them directly to leverage your existing insurance to include your teardrop rental for the duration of your reservation. This is normally at no charge to you.
However, it is not like Uhaul where you can simply waive coverage. Your agents’s active participation in the verficiation process and providing the needed documents is mandatory.

Smoking and vaping of any kind are NOT allowed inside the teardrops.
Pets are allowed in the teardrops but not during travel and must never be left alone. Also, additional cleaning requirements apply that we’ll discus at pick up.
Additional cleaning and odor removal fees will apply if these rules broken.
